We wanted to share some exciting news and updates:

Building on Algorand?

  • Apply for Decipher 2024, a two-day retreat for Algorand builders in Barcelona. Participate in workshops and network to propel your business forward. Apply now.
  • AlgoBharat has partnered with Telangana’s T-Hub, to launch a startup lab program to nurture early-stage Web3 startups in India. Interested? Apply before March 15, 2024. The program kicks off March 22, 2024.
  • There’s also still time to apply for the Blockchain Founders x Algorand accelerator program to help you supercharge your Web3 startup. Apply before March 10, 2024.

Important developer updates:

  • The backend service for the Algorand randomness beacon has now been migrated and will be maintained by the Foundation. What this means: if your application uses the Algorand randomness beacon, please update your app to call the new smart contracts, as listed here:
    • TestNet smart contract application ID: 600011887
    • MainNet smart contract application ID: 1615566206

And in the world of NFTs…

  • The Foundation commissioned the Bambino Project to create five dragon-themed NFTs to celebrate the Chinese New Year. All 4,400 NFTs were claimed by collectors on EXA Market.
  • Goanna launched the GOAN token, a few days after Goanna NFT holders claimed the token through a GoPlausible airdrop. Read Goanna’s blog: “Stepping Closer to Decentralization.”
  • NFT-related product studio Shufl Labs announced a strategic funding round backed by Borderless Capital. Shufl Labs portfolio includes Al Goanna, shufl and treefund.io.
  • Build-A-Bull hackathon finalist Aurally, an NFT marketplace for musicians, launched at Incredible Music Festival with Algorand Nigeria.
  • The Foundation and EXA Market hosted an NFT PARIS side event at NFT Factory, which featured an IRL NFT gallery filled with Algorand NFTs. Also, EXA Market announced that EXA v2 is coming soon.

Calling Algorand governors!

  • The GP10 voting session is now open. There are 18 proposals on the ballot for governors to consider. Vote now.
  • xGov voting session 3 is also open. Visit the xGov Portal to view proposals and vote if you are part of term pools 1, 2, and 3.
  • Look over the blueprint for the next iteration of the xGov platform. Please leave comments and feedback to support us with the platform’s evolution.

  • The Foundation’s CEO Staci Warden joined Rachel Wolfson on Web3 Deep Dive to explain how blockchain is changing the world. Warden also spoke with Ajwritescrypto in an “Algorand Unfiltered” interview.
  • Meanwhile, CTO John Woods was interviewed on AllinCrypto about the DeRec alliance between Algorand and Hedera and the Algorand 2024 roadmap.
