MEGA-ACE (Multi-disciplinary Educational Global Alliance for Algorand Centre of Excellence) is an unique academic endeavour composed of 17 institutions across 6 continents, forming a powerhouse of multi-disciplinary blockchain research and education.
MEGA-ACE is based at Purdue University (US) and includes academics and researchers from Cornell University, UCLA, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Texas A&M, Bar Ilan University, Reichman University, Stealth, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, Ecole Polytechnique France, National Technical University Athens, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, University of Buenos Aires, CoinFabrik, Australia National University, and University of Nairobi.
MEGA-ACE aims to transform the blockchain landscape. Motivated by concrete problems, it targets the construction of end-to-end solutions, from foundational theory right through to applications. It combines multidisciplinary approaches, from economics and social choice to cryptography and blockchain architectures.
The strength of MEGA-ACE’s approach lies in its ability to bring large numbers of globally and academically diverse research teams together. Inclusion, diversity, and equity its core values. MEGA-ACE’s project areas will support it to become:
- A driving force in blockchain research and a forum for the exchange of ideas in the field
- A center for training students, including in countries that currently do not provide such training
- An enabler for mobility for personnel (senior, junior, and students) within the MEGA-ACE network
- A contributor to the Algorand ecosystem via targeted applications and community fostering
