The Algorand Foundation is delighted to announce that it has entered into a partnership with TiE Global’s TiE University program. The partnership is part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts to support education and participation in blockchain technology in general and the Algorand blockchain project itself. The Foundation is supporting this partnership through the Algorand Foundation Grants program.

For 2021, TiE University has launched a global entrepreneur development and mentorship competition in the form of a business hackathon, that will span 30 TiE Chapters, across 200 Colleges in 50 cities around the world. As part of that program, partners propose business or use case challenges that will provide the basis for competition entry. As an initial step in the partnership, the Algorand Foundation will engage with the Algorand community to bring forward 3 business challenges that would have a significant, positive impact on the Algorand ecosystem. These challenges will be added to a selection of challenges that the TiE student teams will choose from and then build innovative solutions against. For more information on the 2021 TiE University Global Business Hackathon and how to participate, please visit https://tie.org/tie-university-global-business-hackathon/ or email university@tie.org.

Dr. Paul Lopez, co-chair of the TiE University global program and immediate past president and current board member of TiE Atlanta indicated that “We at TiE believe that it is vital to build the next generation of entrepreneurs.  Hence, we welcome the partnership with the Algorand Foundation in empowering college students so they aspire to become entrepreneurs.”

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with TiE University today” said Sean Lee, Algorand Foundation CEO. “Enabling the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs through understanding the disruptive potential of the Algorand blockchain is a key task in the development of the global Algorand ecosystem”.

The Algorand Foundation is proud to support this project with funding through the Algorand Foundation Grant program. For more information on TiE University specifically, please visit their website.
