August 31st, 2022 - The Algorand Foundation is proud to announce the partnership with the THUBA DAO, the blockchain student organization affiliated with the prestigious Tsinghua University in China.

“THUBA DAO aims to bridge the gap between Western and Eastern blockchain communities and to cultivate the next gen web3 leaders. Algorand Foundation makes support for student organizations a priority and I am thrilled that we can count THUBA DAO as our partner. With over five years experience in running their community and more than 70,000 individual participants off- and online, THUBA DAO is a true giant in the blockchain space and provides high quality educational content.”

- Hugo Krawczyk, Principal Researcher and Head of the Algorand Centres of Excellence (ACE) programme. “

Brian Seong, president of THUBA DAO, emphasizes how valuable the support from Algorand Foundation and the 1circle Chinese Community is:

“ We appreciate the support we had from the 1circle Chinese community for establishing this partnership. With the help of Algorand Foundation we are not only able to run our hackathon this summer and organize monthly events for our students and graduates, we are also able to localize blockchain curriculum for Chinese speaking young professionals across the globe.”

The first course THUBA DAO will translate to Chinese and promote nationwide is the Zero to Hero PyTeal course Algorand Foundation published earlier this year.

The bilingual THUBADAO Summer Hackathon launched on August 10th 2022 and is open to students around the world. With over $50,000 in prize money and a unique Algorand track, student developers are able to learn, build and innovate together. To learn more, please visit
