October 13th, 2021 - Having launched the Algorand Foundation Grant Program last year, we have received many submissions from developers and innovators globally who have been eager to participate and grow the Algorand ecosystem. After thorough review and selection, we are delighted to announce that Origino - Carnes Validadas is the latest Grant recipient.
Carnes Validadas is a global and ready to use SaaS platform with blockchain technology that easily permits supply chains for extended traceability of products. This allows the patrimonial activation of every animal, unlocking financial services and starting a new era for insurance in the supply chains.
“Origino” released in September 2020 it’s first product, Carnes Validadas, allowing every actor in the meat supply chain to make extended traceability of their product in a ready to use platform, minting 1 NFT for each cow being traced. To date, meat brands have minted 30.000+ active NFTs, leveraging blockchain traceability and QR code labeling to differentiate, decommoditize and add value to their product. This way, consumers around the world can see the origin, history, provenance and detailed data and pictures of each individual product. Further, users can use this NFTs traceability to give Proof of Existence of the asset, and obtain credits and insurances.
