Algorand-based NFT marketplace EXA Market, together with Tian, the project lead for TigerChi NFT, launched fundraising campaign "From Algorand with Love" to support Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. The charity raises funds to provide specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children.
The campaign comprised 28 NFT projects that collaborated to form a charity-themed NFT collection. There were many different designs from well-known creators in the Algorand community, including Algoanna and Akpepe. The collection was auctioned on EXA Market and raised 11,420 ALGO (~$2,568) for the charity.
The warm reception that "From Algorand with Love" received from the NFT community shows the potential power of Web3 and blockchain to raise awareness and funds for social good.
Head of NFT Initiatives at Algorand Foundation, Joana Lacerda, said: "I’m thrilled that the Algorand NFT community has shown so much love for this collection and that we were able to support the charity and Roald Dahl Nurses."
