Algorand Foundation

September 13th, 2022 - Algorand Accelerate (Algorand Europe Accelerator) is recruiting its new cohort of startups to take part in their 12-week accelerator program beginning on November 14th 2022.

The application process has now begun and companies will have until the 31st October 2022 to apply.

Powered by Algorand Foundation and global blockchain funds, Eterna Capital and Borderless Capital, the 12-week Algorand Accelerate program is the new iteration of the Algorand Europe Accelerator launched late 2020. The European-based program will participate in driving long-term adoption and the growth of the Algorand ecosystem.

The selected projects will go through a 12-week acceleration program and will receive upfront seed funding of $35,000. Projects that have demonstrated aptitude and potential throughout the program, are candidates for follow-up investments of $500,000 - $2,000,000.

“Since the initial Algorand Europe Accelerator launched almost two years ago we have seen enormous growth in the ecosystem, largely driven by the flourishing of projects coming out of the previous cohort brought on by Eterna and Borderless. The Foundation looks forward to working with them to support the next batch of innovators and entrepreneurs to establish some new category leaders building on Algorand.”

- Ryan Terribilini, Head of Ecosystem Funding

“We are extremely excited to partner with Eterna Capital and the Algorand Foundation to launch the second cohort of the Algorand Europe Accelerator. This is the best market for entrepreneurs and builders to focus on innovation and fundamental value creation and this program is the right platform to support them. We can’t wait to work and partner with the new founders and startups joining this program!”

- David Garcia, CEO and Managing partner at Borderless

Previous alumni include Folks Finance, Zest, ZTLment and Monerium.

“The Algorand Accelerate program symbolizes Folks Finance's birth. It all started from an idea converted into slides to apply to the program. Under the supervision and support of the mentors, during the accelerator, the whole team acquired a significant experience that brought us to develop at the end of the 3-month program a great product, roadmap, and investment plan.
I believe that participating in the program is the best way to set up the foundation for a solid Algorand-based product and to enter our vivid community. If you are or want to build on Algorand, do not hesitate to apply, it is the best thing to bootstrap your project”.

- Benedetto Biondi, CEO at Folks Finance

Ross Murray-Jones (CEO at Zest), Benedetto Biondi (CEO at Folks Finance), Kaan Eryilmaz (Founder at Tinyman), Natalie Salemink (CEO & Founder at Prismatic), Ben Wyeth (Founder at AlGoanna) and Marisa Goldberg (CEO at Anterdit) are just a few of the other incredible mentors that Algorand Accelerate have secured for the program. You can see the rest of the mentors here.

"Algorand has built an institutional grade blockchain infrastructure. Over the years, we have seen some remarkable teams and projects build on it. We are very excited to now launch a new cohort of the accelerator program in Europe that will support bold entrepreneurs interested in leveraging this cutting-edge technology."

- Nassim Olive, Partner at Eterna Capital

About The Algorand Foundation

The Algorand blockchain — designed by the MIT professor and Turing Award winning cryptographer Silvio Micali — is uniquely capable of delivering on the promise of a borderless global economy. It achieves transaction throughputs at the speed of traditional finance, but with immediate finality, near zero transaction costs, and on a 24/7 basis. Its carbon-neutral platform and unique pure proof-of-stake consensus mechanism solves for the “blockchain trilemma” by achieving both security and scalability on a decentralised protocol, and without a second of downtime since it went live in 2019.

The Algorand Foundation is dedicated to helping fulfill the global promise of the Algorand blockchain by taking responsibility for its sound monetary supply economics, decentralised governance, and healthy and prosperous open-source ecosystem.
